Spongebob as Shrek

It is a muddy and rainy day in the swamp. Just how sponges like it. Just as he came out to take his daily swim in his so called pond a wild donkey came running up to him and said
 "Hey Shrekbob how's it going?"
Shrekbob replied
"Not too shabby i was just going to absorb some water from my pool."
Donkey responded
" You call that a pool? That is a puddle of rain that is full of mud!"
Shrekbob responded
"It is good enough for me. This is all I need."

Shrekbob and Donkey went back into town. As everyone knows no one likes a sponge so Shrekbob really doesn't have many other friends besides the other mystical creatures that live in the swamp like Donkey, the donkey that talks, the three blind mice who always get into trouble because they are blind and the 3 pig brothers. So when Shrekbob walked into town and saw all of his friends being rounded up into one group he was very confused. He walked up to the guy who was rounding them up and said

"What do ye think you're doing with me friends?"
The guy replied
"We are moving everyone out of the swamp and building a Burger King!"
Shrekbob was furious when he heard him say that. He gathered up his friends that lived in the swamp and walked back to his home. When they got back to Shrekbob's house he stood up on one of the tables and said to everyone

"We are going back out there tomorrow and are going to show that guy what we are made of
The pigs replied
"You are the only one they are scared of Shrekbob"
Shrekbob proudly said
"Then I will be the one who fights the man who thinks he can take our land away from us."

The next day Shrekbob and his small army went back into town and saw the guy with some bulldozers heading for the swamp. He knew what he had to do so he stepped out in front of one of the bulldozers and said

"If you are going to destroy our homes you are going to get past me first."

The man drove the bulldozer strait at Shrekbob but Shrekbob was ready. He picked up the machine and threw it in to thhe horizon with the man in it. The rest of the crew begged for mercy. Shrek said to them

"I will do the same things to you guys if you don't do what I say."

The crew members all nodded and said they will do anything.

One Year Later

Shrek and Donkey are lying right by a inground crystal clear pool. Shrekbob says to Donkey

"Is this a real pool now?

Trojan Horse

Author's Note: In this short response I will be analyzing the differences from the real story the Trojan Horse and the parody of the story.

In the story, "The Trojan Horse", the Greeks are in a long war with the Trojans. The Greeks have been forced to stay out on the beaches and fight because the Trojans have a giant wall guarding their city which was guarded at all times so they couldn't get into the city. So the Greeks thought of a brilliant idea and moved all of their ships to the other side of the island to make it look like they left and brought a horse and man to the wall. The man said this is a gift for all the troubles we have called. Take it as a gift and bring it into your walls. What the Trojans didn't know is that Greece's best warriors were in the horse and ready to fight. The plan worked flawlessly and they bought the horse inside their wall. As night came when everyone was asleep the Greek's slid open a secret hatch in the horse and anxious warriors were ready to fight. The Greek's killed the price and captured Helen and made the trojans surrender. The plan couldn't have worked any better.

In the play the Trojan Horse Paris, the prince of Troy captured Helen and one of the gods sent a love spell down on the two of them and they fell in love. Instead of the Greeks going to get back Helen and start a war the gods said that they just wanted to play war. So the Greek's didn't set out to capture Helen back from Troy the gods just made them play war. Compared to the real story this play has the same idea but the overall message is different. The gods don't actually use their real powers in the story they just have fun playing war. And the last big part that was different about the play is that when the Greek's brought the horse in front of Troy the warriors didn't hide in the horse they hid behind the horse.

Legend

Authors Note: In this piece of writing I will be analyzing how trusting people isn't always your best option in the book Legend written by Mary Lu .

It is 10:35 PM and June is in bed sleeping when she gets a phone call which is very rare for her to get one that late at night. She got out of bed and picked up the phone. The lady that was calling June said "Get down to the hospital now your  brother is dead." June was in shock and didn't know what to do. She grabbed her coat and rode her bike to the city hospital. Once she got there they told her that the person who killed her brother was Day. The most wanted criminal in the country. June told herself that she would find Day and bring him to jail. But that was until she met him.

It was a cold and breezy day in the poor sector of Los Angeles and June is on a mission to find Day. As she is walking around she stumbles upon an Skitz fight which is like a street brawl that people bet money on. June watches the first match and sees a talk and broad shouldered girl hurt another girl badly. As the gamblers look to choose a next person to fight they pick out a very skinny and out of shape girl. Instead of letting the little girl get hurt June stepped in and fought for her. June ended up winning the fight but the girl known as Cassandra cheated and used a knife. After the match a teenage boy and the skinny girl came and thanked June for stepping in to help. While they are talking the boy noticed the wound that June had and asked if he could look at it. Once he saw how bad it was he ended up taking the girl in for the nite. Once they started June introduced herself and so did the boy. He said his name was Day.

Although June knew it was him she didn't feel any hatred for him even though June thought he killed her brother. June never mentioned anything about her family because she didn't want Day to find out about who she really is. That night June stayed up thinking about everything that is happening. In the book she says "If Day really killed my brother there has to be a good reason why." When June woke up the next morning she came to her senses and told herself that she had to do the right thing. She called up the police and told them that she found Day.

Once Day was in jail June had a (special) talk with him. They talked about who June really was and who her brother was. After a emotional talk Day said "I couldn't of killed your brother. I needed some medication for my dying younger brother and your brother was on guard. I threw a knife at him and it him him in the shoulder. I just should've been i minor wound." June took that conversation very personally because she loved her brother a lot. Once she got back to her apartment she pulled up the crime scene on her laptop. She studied every picture and description that was on there. The two main things that stuck out to June were this. She saw a little pool of blood and a cut in her brothers shirt right by the shoulder but there was the main wound right by the heart, and there was some kind of black oil on the knife. The same oil here brothers best friend and June's caretaker Thomas had on his hands earlier that nite. After all June never liked Thomas.

As a result of this study June went straight to the police and showed them this and told them her description. The police didn't believe June so instead of going home and sulking she went straight to the prison and demanded to talk to June. Once she was in his jail cell all she told him was "I'm going to get you out of here. You don't belong here."

In the end June broke out Day out of jail with the help of her friends. Everyone trusted everyone in this story except for June and look who ended up being right. Thomos never got punished for what he did because June ran away with Day and Day's friend that June helped earlier in the story. And that is why I think trusting everyone isn't always the best option in this story.

I Am Number Four, Perfect Combo

Authors Note: In this piece I will be demonstrating how the text transfers from the book I Am Number Four to the movie.

Have you ever read a book and later to find out that someone is making a movie on it and thought that this movie was going to be worse than the book like always? That's what I thought was going to happen in the book/movie I Am Number Four written by Pitticus Lore. But to my surprise I thought that they did a fantastic job sticking to the main plot in the book and having most of the senses in the movie too. And that is why I think that text transfers very well in this story.

Although in the book it might describe the characters more well with adjectives in the movie they are exactly what I expected them to be after reading the book. I was also very surprised that they even used some of the same quotes straight out of the book! So here is a brief description on how the book goes.

John Smith (Four) is one of nine children from the planet Lorien living somewhere on earth with an adult guardian. All nine were sent away to grow up in safety, allowing them the time required to develop special powers called legacies. Here on earth we call that puberty. Once fully mature they are to return to Lorien and save the planet. A charm protects them so that in order to kill all 9 of the children they must be killed in order.

At the beginning of both the book and the movie Three has been killed by the Mogorians. After Henri (John's Guardian) found out that three has been killed he stepped up their security measures and moved from sunny Florida to the not so Paradise city named Paradise, Ohio.

In addition one of the major difference in the book to the movie is when Henri gets a magazine on Mogadorians and goes to the house it was sent out at he gets kidnapped and locked up there. After a chapter or so John and his best friend Sam come to rescue Henri. Once they rescued him they had to make a getaway because three Mogadorians saw them and started chasing John, Sam, and Henri. They made there getaway because John developed his first legacy and teleported them to safety.

This major turning point in the book which I thought was probably the climax was not included in the movie at all. Besides that the I Am Number Four movie was one of the best pictures that had almost perfect text transfer from the book to the movie. And that is why this book and movie series was one of the all time best combinations.

"After You My Dear, Alfonzo"

In the book After You My Dear Alfonzo the mom of Johnny is very racist to his friend Bobby because he is black. Bobby is very wealthy for a black kid. His dad is a manager at an company and gets paid very well. I think that Bobby is understanding what Johnny's mom is saying and thinks it is funny.

In my perspective if i were Bobby i would just take it as a joke so nothing else would get worse between him and Johnny. Johnny's mom is a jerk and is very racist. Her stereotype is very bad. It was a big problem back then. If her son wants to be friends with an African American he should be able to.

To The Thawing Wind

Authors Note: I will be analyzing the poem To The Thawing Wind by: Robert Frost and showing how figurative language impacts this poem.

This poem is basically about hope, with the coming of spring. The author gets your attention in the first line by saying the loud blowing of the wind is bringing spring rain "Come with rain, O loud Southwester!"  Throughout the poem he uses metaphors and personification to enhance the impact of his words.

"Bring the singer, bring the nester" is an example of how he uses metaphoric language to show how a bird is on its way. He gives a flower personification by saying it has the dream of coming out of the ground and blooming, the dream of a new life. He uses rhyming to make the poem move along smoothly as if the melting ice will flow and go.

The tone of the poem takes a strong edge, when he says "Melt the glass and leave the sticks, Like a hermit's crucifix." He is using this powerful hyperbole to make the reader feel the impact of how glass could possibly melt and how a hermit would use a cross to get out of winter.

The overall feeling created by the figurative language gives the reader a sense of both the warmth of spring and yet the cold winds that are blowing the winter snows away. In the last five lines Frost leaves the reader with a confused feeling that the wind is blowing things around in a scattered way.

I feel this poem leaves the reader with a hope that despite the rain and the loud winds there is hope that the dream of spring and flowers is a reality. Even though he uses some strong language such as swinging pictures and rattling pages you still feel that the "Thawing Wing" will bring the dream of new life.

Second Guesing

Authors Note: In this piece Second Guessing I will be showing the theme of Jonah and a few other characters from the book Found

Jonah, the mail character in the book Found written by Margret Peterson Haddix grew up thinking he was a normal kid. Later to find out he was one of 36 kids from history that were brought to the 21 century from time travel. He does not believe this one bit and will not believe what everyone is telling him at all. So now he is on a mission to find out who brought him here and what this is all about. This is why I think the main theme in the book Found is determination.

I think that the main theme in Found is determination because Joanna will not stop until he meats his goal. An example of this is when Jonah says to his friend  Chip " I will do anything and everything to get to the bottler of this". This quote from Jonah clearly states the fact that he wants to meet his goal.

Another quote from the book is when Jonah says to Chip " We will get out of this cave. We will gather up everyone who wants to get out of here and break out." Jonah is one character who never gives up and will always have an idea on what to do to make sure he can succeed.

Another book with the theme determination is Divergent written by Veronica Wroth. Tris the main character in the book is a girl who is protesting and trying to stop the fighting between here people. Se is organizing secret meetings to solve some of the issues with her people. For a girl that is only 16 she is showing a big amount of courage and determination.

After some quotes from the book Found I strongly believe that the theme in the book is determination. In the end of the book Jonah meets his goal and he succeeds what he was trying to do all along.
