Authors Note: In this point of view essay I will be demonstrating two peoples way of seeing the story in the Joh"I Am Number Four" series.
Imagine running and running away from the same person for about 15 years. Think about the way you would think about that person and what they would to you when they caught you. Well this is what John Smith has to think about every day. He is just a 14 year old boy who wants to live a normal life. But John isn't a normal child. He is one of nine kids from a planet far off in space running from another alien race who wants to kill all of them. The alien race that wants to kill John are called the Mogadorians. Everyone's life would be a lot better if the Mogadorians wouldn't have destroyed Lorien (the planet which John is from) but that is what John thinks.
John Smith's perspective of the Mogadorians are mean, ruthless, and selfish people who want to kill the nine children. As John describes them in the story it makes him sound like the good guy. But what if there was John's race did something to the Mogadorians. The Lorien's could of started this whole war/battle. There is no proof to be found on it but it could of happened.
Because of John's statements in the book like "the Mogadorians are nothing but a cold blooded killer" you would expect the reader to think that the Mog's are the bad guys. It kind of makes the reader feel hatred to the Mog's just like John. One last way to describe Johns feelings is that they demolished an entire school that John was hiding in to find him.
If the Mog's were telling the story I would expect the readers to think that the Lorien's did something to get what was coming to them. The Mog's perspective on the Lorien's would be more like cowards and babies because they lost the war and now they are running away.
In conclusion both of their perspectives were very different but similear in a way. But I still would have to agree with John that everyones live would be a lot easier if the Mog's wouldn't have destroyed Lorien.
